The company L’Occitane en Provence is regarded as the international ambassador brand of the French Provence due to its traditional and sustainable production and its strategic direction. The company was founded by Olivier Baussan in

1976 with the credo of preserving and applying the knowledge of the power of nature of the Provence and sharing the passion with the whole world. Already at the age of 23, Baussan, the founder of the company, sold distilled rosemary essential oil on local markets. Ever since, L’Occitane en Provence has been the ambassador of the Provence, sharing the energy and tranquility of the Mediterranean flora through the senses of smelling, seeing and feeling. Up to this day, L’Occitane is closely linked to the economic life, the nature, the cultural development and residents of the Provence.
